"An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching." - Mahatma Gandhi, from Day 7, Living with the Monks by Jesse Itzler
This is where I'll be journaling my ounce of practice. I've never been 100% comfortable facilitating classes on topics I don't know about or haven't practiced in a while. There are aspects of the lessons I share that I've learned from mentors and colleagues but would like to test myself, so I guess you can think of this as one big experiment.
The name of this blog is a bit of an inside joke from the discussions I've had with students of the Business for Interior Decorating classes. We talk about building an empire and although I always get a chuckle, I'm dead serious about wanting to help everyone who goes through that class build their own empire...no matter what size it is! I love the idea of crafting because crafts involve small steps that are taken on a daily basis. It requires careful planning, following that plan and the relentless work that is involved. With crafts I've learned to develop patience and determination to deal with the small mistakes & challenges, while keeping the end product well in mind.
Thank you so much for being part of this community. I wanted to take us beyond the classroom so that we can take our plans and put them into action. I hope that you actively bring up any questions or challenges that you might have so that we can work through them together. We have a Facebook community where I hope we can share our strengths and allow each other to leverage these. In the meantime, happy crafting!
Big virtual hugs,
Cathy
